In America, Joseph Lothropp, age twenty-six, married Mary Ansell. He
  became a Dequty for the town in the General Court. He held the title of
  Captain and Lieutenant. He was well educated and well versed in law,
  collecting a large library of law books. He settled in Barnstable.

       Hannah's father, John Howse (also spelled House) was as stubbornly
  an Anglican minister as John Lothropp was an Independent. He severed all
  family ties to the Lothropps, with the exception of young John Lothropp,
  who as also an Anglican. Hannah had a sister named Pennina. In the Court trial
  in 1632 she was listed as Pennina Howse.
John Howse was rector of Eastwell, Kent, England.

Thomas Lothropp married Mary Salte. Within a year, Thomas and Mary
  moved to the neighboring parish of Etton. Here they raised their family.

  Cherryburton, Yorkshire.)

       Robert Lothrope, the son of John Lowthrop and the grandfather of John
  Lothropp, was born about 1513 and inherited his father's estate. Robert
  Lothrope was enterprising and added to the family holdings.
Robert Lathrop will dated 16 July 1558 - proved 20 October 1558.
  Ellen died 14 years after her husband.

       John Lowthrop, the great grandfather of John Lothropp, was about 29 years
  of age when Henry VIII came to power. Lowthrop was established in Cherry-
  burton, Yorkshire. His land holdings were so extensive that he was assessed
  twice as much as others in his parish.
John Lowthroppe had three daughters and one son.
