     CENSUSES:
1930 census for Civil District 9, Macon, Tennessee: Tucker, Lovis, son, M, W, age 4-10/12, single, did not attend school in last year, he and parents born in Tennessee, (did not write anything in on read and write), at home.

WORLD WAR II: Lovis was turned down to serve his country because of flat feet.

MARRIAGE: Married Judith Lamb on 23 Feb 1963 in Greenwood, LeFlore, Mississippi, in the Church of the Nativity (An Espiscopal Church) where her parents lived. Application for marriage license made 31 December 1962. Marriage soleminized on 23 February 1963 and recorded 27 July 1967 in Book A-11, Page 32, Leflore Co., MS; have original. Judith and Lovis owned a home at 507 Nutwood St., Bowling Green, KY, and were divorced 9 May 1969. Lovis kept the house and Judith took the children Tom and April. Married by Reverend Jones S. Hamilton.

GRADUATION: Graduated from Macon High School in 1944.

OCCUPATION: Sold men's clothing at a department store in Nashville, Tennessee. Hired by Charlie Martin to manage his Martin's Clothing Store in Bowling Green, Kentucky, about the time that Judith Lamb was attending the Bowling Green College of Commerce. They met at Martin's and later married.
When Mr. Martin died, Martin's Clothing Store was sold by the family and Lovis was unemployed. Worked in sales at Sears for a time. Worked as a nurse's aide for an elderly man in Florida.

BURIAL: Buried at Hayesville Cemetery, Lafayette, Macon Co., Tennessee.

     MARRIAGE #1: To Sandra Lee; wife Judith Rittenhouse has copy of death card which gives her birth and death information.

MARRIAGE #2: To Connie Mendez Brotherton. Divorce Case No. 79-656-E in Josephine Co., Oregon; petition for divorce by Connie dated May 9, 1979, gives their date of marriage as December 30, 1977, in Rogue River, Oregon. Connie's residence is 350 Woodbrook Dr., Grants Pass, OR 97526.

MARRIAGE #3: To Judith Rittenhouse on June 22, 1985, Sacaton, Maricopa, AZ. Lists both residing in Mesa, AZ. License No. 85M11347.

NEWSPAPER: Jessen's Sunday Observer of Aug. 4, 1968, has article "Delta 'Steader' attacks Highway Landtaking" about David Mottley.

EDUCATION: Attended University of Alaska in Fairbanks, Alaska. Completed Radio Operational Engineering School in Burbank, CA, on December 28, 1955. Granted Radio Telephone Operator License First Class from U.S. Federal Communications Commission on July 23, 1965, in Anchorage, Alaska, No. P1-23-805. Attended Rogue Community College in Grants Pass, OR, in 1978 for real estate courses. Attended Mesa Community College and Chandler-Gilbert Community College off and on in late 1980's and early 1990s till Dec. 1995.

CHILD: David Mottley had a child by Barbara Lind named David Scott, birth date unknown. His wife Judith located the following in the Index to Births for Washington, M-N 1950-1954, Film 610774 from Mesa Family History Library: "Lind, Barbara, (No name for child given) F, 4-11-50, 601 14391. Only entry for Barbara Lind in a time when most entries only gave fathers' names and children's names. David is sure this is Scott's birthdate and that the "F" is a mistake.

INTERMENT: National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 North Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ. Phone 602-379-4615. David is in Section 45, grave 1469. From Main Street in Mesa, Arizona, you go north on Country Club Dr. to McDowell Rd. Turn West on McDowell Rd. to Pinnacle Peak Rd. West on Pinnacle Peak to Cave Creed Rd. South on Case Creek Rd. approximately 1/4 mile.

BAPTISM: David's baptism was performed "live" by himself in another stake before he met Judith.

1930 U. S. Federal Census : Washington. Pierce. Tacoma. Ward 5. 1420 G. St. South (lookes like "G"), Dwelling 80, family 97: David Mottley, son, M, W, age 2-11/12, single, he & father born Washington, mother born in Minnesota.
1945-1947: US Army, Veteran Service Dates 11/08/1945-02/04/1947. (He also served later in the Berlin Airlift.)
1948-1949: The Berlin Blockade, June 21, 1948 to May 11, 1949 became one of the first major crises of the new Cold War when the Soviet Union blocked railroad and street access to West Berlin. The crisis abated after the Soviet Union did not act to stop American, British, and French airlifts of food and other provisions to the Western-held sectors of Berlin following the Soviet blockade.
