Note for: Jessie May, 1849 -
Index
Individual Note: NOTES: Jessie May in Combined History of Edwards County, . . . is listed as a farmer and settling in Edwards Co. in 1843. This would be 6 years before this Jessie May was born and I'm not sure if a wife would be listed as a farmer. However, the 1880 Census lists a wife named Jessie Applegath who is a housekeeper. The 1850 Census for Edwards Co., Illinois, lists Jessie May as a child of George and Ann May, age 11 years, with a sister Elizabeth, age 15.

Individual Note: 1860 U. S. Census : Illinois. Edwards. Colyer, Clara, age 2/12, female, born in Illinois. She was born the same time as Mattie so Mattie must be a nickname for Clara. She lives with her parents, George and Clara Colyer.
George's parents died in 1858 and 1859 so 1860 finds four brothers and a sister living on adjoining farms. 972/970 household has Henry Colyer and his wife Eveline. 973/971 has brother George Colyer, his wife Clara, and daughter Clara. 974/972 has brother Edward Colyer with his sister Mary Colyer. 975/973 has brother Robert Colyer and a Carrie Hall (presently relationship unknown).
