     DAUGHTERS: They had three daughters, one of whom married a Castleberry possibly.

RESIDENCE: Henry and his brother John Cupp were living in 1801 in Burge's District on the Mulberry Fork of the Oconee River (probably in Jackson County, Georgia). The Oconee River also goes through Hall County.

BURIAL: Lawrence Thompson is buried in Sweet Moments Cemetery, Goobertown, Arkansas. Because that is in Craighead Co., Judith Rittenhouse put he died in Craighead Co., Arkansas.

Directions: Turn west on County road 792 at Goobertown Store then turn north on County road 791. Go north approximately ¾ mile to the first crossroads. Turn west (Left) on County road 761. The cemetery will be on the right side of the road approximately ½ mile. All Thompsons buried there:
        James Addison Thompson = Nov 27, 1849 - Nov 19, 1932 (Daddy). Jane Mattix Thompson - Wife of Lawrence Thompson from 1822 - 1836 - died 1836. Laurence Thompson - 1799 - 1856 - 1st Co. Clerk of Green Co. (first name spelled differently on this stone). Mahala Sutfin Thompson - Wife of Lawrence Thompson from 1840 to 1899 - Born Dec 18,1814 - Died Jun. 24, 1889 .

SEALING TO PARENTS: Lawrence Thompson born 16 Jan 1799, of Green Co., Kentucky, was sealed to parents named Lawrence Thompson and Eleanor.

OCCUPATION: Lawrence was a school teacher.

Thompson. there is also an article "History of Craighead County Arkansas" by Harry Lee Williams, founder and for 22 years editor of the Jonesboro Tribune, 1930 copyright 1930. Page 419 of hopefully one of these states, "Lawrence Thompson came from Indiana on horseback in 1850 (Judith located him in 1840 Arkansas Census & 1850 U. S. Census in Powell Township, Greene, Arkansas) and settled east of Greensboro in the present Brookland Township. Thompson's Creek was named in his honor as he first settled on it and was the first school teacher in that vicinity. He entered the land and later went to Batesville and secured a deed from the government. His first wife, Jane Mattix, died soon after the birth of Edward after they came to Arkansas. The children by Lawrence Thompson's second wife are: James A. who married Susan Edwards; Sallie married Charles Hay; Joyce married Davis McCullars; three sons moved to Oklahoma and married; Ed married Miss Spradlin. Hugh Emmett married (1) Clifford (a girl) Sims and (2) Pauline Diggs.
