Individual Note: DEATH: Death date on tombstone listed as 21 May 1912. She died by falling down a well on their property. Her birth and death dates are listed in an obituary and on her tombstone in Bone Gap Cemetery.

NAME: Abigail appears on the marriage license of her son, Alfred Scott Hocking, original on file at Edwards Co. Court House, Albion, Illinois.
BIRTH: Parley Hocking on his family group sheet lists her birthday as 3 Oct 1837.
~ORDINANCE WORK: Parlie L. Hocking was the Family Representative who submitted this person for her temple work in 1948. For Cynthia A. Porter, ordinances were also performed as follows: Baptism 21 Sep 1996 Portland Temple; endowment 28 Nov 1997 Portland Temple; and sealing to parents 16 Jul 1998 Portland Temple. Baptism also performed 18 Sep 1991 Provo Temple and endowment on 4 Jan 1992 in Provo Temple.
NOTES: Cynthia Porter weighed 2 and a half pounds at birth. Before her death she weighed 240 pounds.

BIRTH: Second white child born in the English Settlement. She was born in Village Prairie which in 1819 was about two miles north of Albion. A small stream called the Village ran through it to the Little Wabash. The town does not seem to exist in 2006.

Death Note: Source: Thomas Wells, of Redstone Twp. (b. 1763). Will dated 5-2-1824 and probated 8-6-1825. (Will Book l, p. 857.) Susana, wife (b. 1764); Polly Rittenhouse, dau.; Elizabeth Bartley, dau.; Hannah Chaffin, dau.; David, son. Grandchildren, children of Polly: William Rittenhouse (b. 1802); Elizabeth Rittenhouse; James Rittenhouse (b. 1809/1810), Susannah Rittenhouse; David Rittenhouse; Wilson Rittenhouse. ERL gives birthdates which I have in parentheses in green ink. She typed Grandchild, children of Polly even with James Rittenhouse which would delete William Rittenhouse and Elizabeth Rittenhouse; however, they would have had to have the name of Wells to be Thomas' children.
