Text: Gov. Simon Bradstreet- By his first wife Ann daughter of Gov. Thomas Dudley, married as the family history in Genealogy Register IX, p. 113, says about 1628, which to me seems a year or two earlier than probably though we know it was before the April Embark in 1630, had a son Samuel, H.C. 1653 before mentioned (married 1662, Mercy, young daughter of Captain William Tyng) who died 6 September 1670; Dorothy, who married 14 June 1654 Rev. Seaborn Cotton; Sarah who married 1. Richard Hubbard of Ipswich, and 2. Captain Sam Ward; Simon, born 28 September 1640 H.C. 1660; Hannah, who married 3 June 1659, Andrew Wiggin of Exeter; Mercy, born 1647 who married 31 October 1672, Major Nathaniel Wade; Dudley, 1648 before mentioned (married 12 November 1673 Ann, widow of Theodore Price, daughter of ____ Wood); and John 22 or 31 July 1652 before mentioned.

Text: Gov. Simon Bradstreet, son of a non conforming minister, was born in Horbling, England, in March 1603; spent one year at Emanyal College, Cambridge; came to Massachusetts with Winthrop, Dudley and other distinguished persons in the Arabella, in 1630. Was chosen an assistant in the government of the colony before leaving England, and annually reelected for fifty years; was afterward elected deputy governor and governor. He married Anne Dudley, daughter of Thomas Dudley, first deputy governor of the colony, who was never out of office of ministry and most of the time deputy governor until his death in 1653.
