According to Elizabeth Rittenhouse Lamb, "Grandmother's death certificate is a good example of misinformation. My mother gave the information. She was under a great emotional strain since her husband died in January, two months before her mother. I doubt if she even realized her error. The error was the name of Sarah Bunting Hocking's father given as 'James' Bunting'. James Bunting was Sarah's grandfather. Sarah's father's name was George Bunting."

Text:   Do you have a copy of a letter like this written by Sarah Hocking (your Grand mother (sic) I believe) about her husband's death (sic). The one I have is in my mother's hand writing and I have no idea where she got it. (from Mrs. C. H. Bromley)
        Quote Mar. 10, 1923
My dear Sister-----
I'm writing with a heart heavy with the greatest sorrow I have ever experienced. On the 23 of Feb. Alf (sic) came home to work a little in our yard leveling the ground preparing to make a beautiful lawn when he fell dead. He never regained conciousness (sic). He had left our business not 20 min. Was feeling so well and was joking with the men in the store. O sister my loneliness is so great. We brot (sic) him up to Okla City and buried him in Rose Hill cemetery. The beautiful floral offerings (sic). His casket was covered and 2 long tables. Alma's friends were so kind. I'm with Alma yet but my plans are not definite as yet. Edna came home to see her father laid away. I think now I'll spend a part of my time with each of my girls. They are lovely to me but seems my loss gets greater all the time. Sister I hope you are better. I can't write more. Love to you all. Lovingly your sister Sarah. 416 W. 21st St., Oklahoma City. Okla.
Note from Mrs. C. H. Bromley: The above mother has marked as being written to an Evelyn, that Mother doesn't have in the family history---
