Text:   Sarah Susan Tyner, born 29 Aug 1878 in Walcott, Greene County, Arkansas. Died 13 Feb 1969 in Farmersville, Collin, Texas. Buried in 100F Cemetery in Farmersville. Spouse John H. Cooper. Married 5 Jul 1896 (div) in Arkansas.
'Dock' at the age of 5 years traveled by ox cart from Benton County, Tennessee with his family to northeast Arkansas. This was in time frame of 1868-1870. He met and married Nancy Jane Cox in 1877 in Greene County, Arkansas. There were three children born there before they brought their family to Farmersville, Texas, between 1884 and 1887. All other children were born in Farmersville.
A brother, Wiley J. Tyner, Jr. (sic) either came with them or followed them shortly thereafter, as the 1900 census shows that he was living with 'Dock's' family at that time. He did not show to have any family at that time.

Text:   "The first Cupps to arrive in Greene Co., Arkansas, were Warner and Anna who moved from Cobb Co., Georgia, and settled in Greene Co., Arkansas, sometime after 1840. Their seventh child Henry had been born in Cobb Co., Georgia, on January 1839, shortly before the move. Warner and Anna reared a family of nine children: Emily, William "Doc", John, Mary E., Jacob, Nancy, Henry, Eliza, and Sarah L. Henry Cupp served in the Civil War as a Confederate with Company D; Davies' Battalion, AR Cavalry, Private. He was taken prisoner of war on 11 May 1865 and paroled at Wittsburg, Arkansas, 25 May 1865. When he enlisted at Greene Co., Arkansas, he was 25 years old, had blue eyes, light hair, and a dark complexion, he was 5'6'' tall, and stated he was born in Cobb Co., GA. Margret Dennis was born 4 November 1845 in Arkansas to Robert John and Elenor Thompson Dennis. Robert had arrived in St. Francis Township in 1837 from Tennessee or Kentucky. On 3 Aug 1840 Robert and Elenor Thompson were married. About 1848 the Robert Dennis family moved to Crowley's Ridge where he resided until his death. Margret Dennis married Henry Cupp in 1866 and died in 17 December 1869 when their daughter Sarah Ann was just about two years old. Henry Cupp had grown up on his father's farm ans was always very industrious farmer. He owned a large well-stocked farm, much of which was under cultivation. He was one of the prominent farmers and stock raisers of the country, had decided political views, and was very interested in progress and development. Henry Cupp died 9 November 1895. Henry and Margret Dennis Cupp are buried in Mount Zion Cemetery, Walcott, Arkansas, with their infant daughter who aged two months. Also buried in a row beside them are: Henry's second wife Louisa R. (Stevens) Cupp with her infant daughter and infant son Warner next to wife number three, Nancy Adaline (Smith) Cupp and her children Rake and Pearly. Henry and Louisa, called Lucy, had one daughter Emmaline "Emma" J. Cupp who married Joseph A. "Jack" Fielder. Emma had passed away by the time her father died. Henry's last wife, Icyphena Evaline/Emeline Lane Cupp, and her one small daughter, Mary H., are buried behind his monument. Icyphena and Henry had two sons who lived to maturity: Henry J. Cupp, born 10 Jan 1887, and Laborn "Labe" R. Cupp, born 2 Dec 1891. Henry Cupp had kept an old, beat up trunk whose hinges were missing packed full of money and IOU's. People knew Henry had money and couldn't read so they just scribbled nothing on the IOU's, which made them no good after he passed away. Henry would also take a roll of bills and put them in knot holes in his barn. Then he'd put a corn cob up there and break it off. There had been rumors that someone would kill Henry for his money, so as soon as Jim Tyner heard Henry had passed away, he hitched a pack on his back and took off carrying his gun. He found so much money in that trunk that he decided he would have to get it one of the banks. He started out and walked all the way to Jonesboro, arriving about the time the banks opened the next morning. Following their father's death, Henry's sons, Henry and Labe Cupp, managed to get their inheritance money before they were of age. They rode trains about the country side to all the big cities, spent all their money like it was water, and soon had spent all their inheritance. The daughter, Sarah Ann, and her husband James McDonald "Jim" Tyner got their start by paying $1000 for Henry Cupp's livestock brand when he died. For years, succeeding owners plowed up money as they farmed what had been Henry Cupp's land. Everyone would say, "It was probably some of the Cupp money in its day.""

Text:   L.C. Thompson lest at the Soliphone office recently the muster roll of Companny D, Davies Battalion, Arkansas Cavalry, C.S.A., of which J.P. Willcockson was captain. The roll gives the names of each officer and private in teh company, where enlisted, and age, color of eyes and hair, complexion, height and weight; also place of nativity. They ass enlisted in 1861 in Greene County; but most of them have passed to their eternal reward. Capt. Wilcockson was an uncle of T.R. Willcockson and served as sheriff of the county after war, but died many years ago, about 1877. The muster roll is property of his widow, Mrs. Lucy Willcockson, and is an old faded document. It was brought home by Capt. Willcockson form the war when he returned after his surrender. It is becoming faded and torn and ought to be framed in order that it may be preserved. Below we publish the names appearing in the roll, giving the rank of each officer of the company. Look over the list and see how many of them are still alive. The Soliphone would like to hear from some of the survivors about the history of this company: J.P. Willcockson.... William Cupp.... J.H. Willcockson..... John Cupp.... Henry Cupp.... J.W. Thompson..... J.H. Willcockson...T.R. Willcockson... " The above article is a reprint from an undated article which appeared in The Soliphone. He owns a large well-stocked farm, much of it under cultivation. He has been married four times, and is the father of seven children, two of whom, Sarah Ann (born October 18, 1867) and Emeline (born February 2, 1871) are the only survivors. His first wife was Margaret Dennis, and after her death, he chose Lucy Stevens, who was born December 2, 1841. His third marriage was with Nancy Smith, who died 1884. Mrs. Cupp whose madien name was Emeline Lane, was born November 21, 1862, and is a true wife and benevolent woman.
