Text: The addendum submitted by Susan states of the Ann Houston Lamb grave and tombstone, "It is possible that she has a tombstone which has fallen and is covered by several inches of dirt., My great-great grandmother. Older members of the family stated that she was buried in this cemetery. In Oct 1990, Juanita Stacy and I uncovered about 6 tombstones. We found the tombstone of her sister, Rebecca Houston, who married James Lamb. Two Houston sisters married two Lamb brothers. (See AR:CEM Is.)

Text: As to the name of Ross Houston, Sr. daughter, Amy: When Gandrud transcribed the probate records for Ross in her Alabama books, she read the name as "Amy". However, in the actual had(sic for hand) written record, it is written as "Anny" with the 2 "nn's" being so close together that it could easily be read as an "m" rather than "nn".

This is the direct line of Susan lamb Griffith and her sister, Judith Rittenhouse Carpenter...

Text: In January, 1852, thirteen families from Alabama came in a caravan and located in the Greensboro settlement, and all these families became prominent in the later history of Craighead County, rearing children who became honorable men and women who left their impress upon the lives of those with whom they came in contact. These families wer as follows: J. H. Kitchens, Sr., John, Jerald, Robert and Pack Dacus, Caloway and Jacob Hix, John Newberry a brother-in-law of the Dacus brothers, Will Odell, a brother-in-law to Mr. Kitchens, John Morrison. Nat Stephens and Mr. Battles (sic). Mr. Kitchens was a veteran of the Indian Wars...He secured 320 acres near Greensboro with these warrants and opened up a farm. His children and grandchildren follow.

Text: It was organized with 5 companies (at least). It was surrendered by Jeff Thompson on May 11, 1865. It's only assignments were: Northern Sub-District of Arkansas, District of Arkansas, Trans-Miss (Apr 1865) Northern Sub-District of Arkansas, District of Arkansas and West Louisiana, Trans-Miss (Apr-May 1865). It's commander is unknown, last name Davie or Davies. That's really all that is known about them . . . Mark Gerdes.
The records were compiled almost entirely from pareole records. Members of the unit were paroled at Wittsburg, Ark 25 May 1865. All enlistments were in Ark unless otherwise notes.

Text: Pack came from Arkansas from Alabama with three brothers according to page 37 of the Newberry Book. Paschal "Pack" Dacus, born about 1826 S.C. and died 3 Feb 1895. Interred in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Walcott, Arkansas along with his wife. Married Amanda M. O'Dell about 1848. Had following known children: James Harrison Dacus, b. 1848 and d. 1901. John md. Smithie Craven and lived at Center Hill. Tom Dacus md. Ella Lashley of Jonesboro. Clarina Elizabeth Dacus md. #1 Robert Marshall Lamb, #2 Rubin Albert H. Winn. Sarah md. "Bud" Murphy. Nan married Routh "Pink" (also spouse Rowe).
Robert Marshall Lamb, Jr., youngest son of Clarinda Dacus Lamb, gave the name of his grandparents Dacus as Pashal and Amanda O'Dell Dacus and their children were also given by J. U. Dacus, LaVerne, Calif., son of James Harrison Dacus.
