Text:   "Robert Dennis [born 9 June 1818, Tenn.] arrived in Arkansas in 1837. He entered and purchased land in what is known as Saint Frances Township, and on this he lived and made improvments until about 1848, when he sold out and entered a hoit of 40 acres on the west side of Crowley's Ridge, on which he lived 10 years. This he sold and bought 8 acres in the same lorability, clearing nearby the entire tract, and making many other improvments, and here resided until his death on the 20th of December, 1867, followed by his widow, February 14, 1881."

Robert Dennis and wife Eleanor Thompson were supposed to ahve 10 children according to a biographical account of their son Lawrence J. Dennis. I knew their (sic) was a Charity E. Dennis and a Robert Anderson Dennis. I have made this list.
1. Henry Dennis, b. 1841. 2. Lawrence J., b. 1843. 3. Margaret A., b. 1845 (your gg grandmother). 4 & 5. Cynthia, b. 1847 and William T., b. 1850 (ERL doesn't know what happened to these two.) [JRC: They both died young] 6. Wyley (Wiley P.), b. 1852. 7. Mary E. , b. 1854 (there was supposed to be an Ellen). 8. Robert Anderson, b. 1858. 9. Charity E., b. 1860. 10. Samuel J., b. 1862. 11. Sarah E., b. 1867. I came out with 11 children instead of 10. I used the census, marriage records, and cemetery date.

Text:   "Warner Cupp was born to Henry Cupp of Wilkes and Gwinnett Co., Georgia, in 1806. He married Anna about 1825 probably in Gwinnett Co. Anna was born in 1810 in South Carolina. They lived in Cobb Co., Georgia, for the 1840 census and were in Greene Co., Arkansas, for the 1850 Census. Warner was very successful at farming until his death on Febuary 27, 1871. His wife Anna only lived until 18 January 1872. They are buried in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Walcott, Greene, Arkansas. Warner and Anna had nine children, the first seven being born in Georgia and the last two being born in Greene Co., Arkansas. After the arrival, all the family members remained in Greene Co. Emily Cupp was born 25 March 1827 in Georgia. She married James E. Walldrum about 1846-1847 in Greene Co., Arkansas. She is listed on the 1870 Mortality Schedule for Greene Co., Arkansas. She died 19 April 1870 in Greene Co. and was interred in Zion Cemetery. William "Doc" Cupp was born about 1828 in Georgia. He married his first wife Mary Jane Shane about 1850 in Greene Co., Arkansas. He had a second marriage to a Jane. He is probably the William Cupp who is buried at Cross Roads Cemetery, Greene, Arkansas. John Cupp was born 11 April 1831 in Georgia. John married an Elizabeth about 1859-1860 in Greene Co., Arkansas. His second wife was named Clarinda M. He died on 7 September 1899 in Walcott, and was buried in Fairview Cemetery, Greene Co. Mary E. Cupp was born 8 May 1832 in Georgia. She married William H. Hutchins about 1850 in Greene Co. Mary passed away 15 January 1878 in Greene Co. and was buried in Zion Cemetery in Walcott. Jacob Cupp was born 7 February 1833 in Georgia. He married S.A.E. who was born about 1832 in Tennessee. His Estate records in 1882 listed his wife as Margret E. He died 17 February 1882 in Greene Co. and was buried in Fairview Cemetery, Greene Co. Nancy Cupp was born in Georgia. Henry Cupp was born 10 January 1839 in Cobb Co., Georgia. About 1866 he married first Magret Ann Dennis who died on 17 December 1869 when their daughter Sarah Ann was just about two years old. Henry married second Louisa R. Stevens, third Nancy Adaline Smith, and fourth Icyphena Evaline/Emeline Lane. Henry and his four wives are buried along with their children who died as infants in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Walcott. henry died 9 November 1895 in Walcott. Eliza Cupp was born 17 July 1846 in Greene Co., although the tombstone says "1838". She marreid a W.R. Marten and died 28 April 1876 in Greene Co. Sarah L. Cupp was born 27 December 1849 in Greene Co., Arkansas. She was blind and never married. She died 3 May 1914 in Greene Co. and was buried in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Walcott.

Warner Cupp, patriach of the Cupp family in Greene County, was born in Georgia in 1804. Warner's wife Ann was born in South Carolina in 1810. Their known children were: William, 1829; John, 1830; Jacob, 1832; Nancy, 1837; Henry, 1840; Eliza, 1845; and Sarah, 1849. The five older children were born in Georgia; Eliza and Sarah were born in Arkansas. The Cupp family settled in St. Francis Township. Willaim Cupp's first wife was Mary J., born in Tennessee in 1830. Their children were: G.W., 1849; John, 1851; Lucinda, 1853; Martha A., 1856; and Monroe, 1858. John Cupp's wife was Elizabeth born in Tennessee in 1842. Their children were: John H., 1864; James, 1866; Sarah A., 1870; Elsberry, 1872; Robert, 1874; and George, 1876. Apparently Jacob Cupp married twice. His first wife was S.A.E., born in Tennessee in 1832. His second wife was named Margret, born in Mississippi in 1837. His known children were: E.P., 1853; Warner, 1854; Nancy E., 1857; Sarah S., 1859; Monroe, 1861; Ida, 1866; Cornelia, 1870; Charles, 1872; and Martha, 1876.
