Note:   Elizabeth Rittenhouse Lamb notes that Thomas is her great grandfather and that their son Thomas is not listed any other place so must have died young. She also notes that Thomas Hocking married Cynthia Abigail Porter on 20 Dec 1857. That is why he is not listed in the 1860 census (But he is; ERL must have made a mistake in the year because actual text gives his family. Probably she meant 1850 census because she does not have him listed on this record.) When Judith checked his father's census record on Ancestry.com, she found Thomas, age 16, farmer, born in Illinois.
