Children Mahlon A., George W., Eliza Eumestina (sic) Lucresta (sic), Landon C., Sarah A., Rosa (Rezena?) and Lydia.
Matthew is buried at the Hebron Reformed Church Cemetery, on the Forsyth-Davidson County Border, North Carolina. Mary Ann is buried at the West Salem Moravian Church graveyard. In 1860 Matthew and Mary were living at Davidson County, North Carolina with their children Mahlon and Eliza. Mary Ann's parents moved from Forsyth County, North Carolina to Edwards County, Illinois (sic) between 1860 and 1870. Mary Ann may have moved with them (after Matthew died) as Mrs. Mary Ann Nading married William J. Hoeszel (8 Sep 1839-6 Feb 1916) on 11 Mar 1869 at Edwards County, Illinois. In the 1870 Edwards County census the Hoeszel family is listed Mahlon, Eliza, Landon, Sarah and Lydia Nading. Why wasn’t Landon listed in the 1860 Davidson County, North Carolina census? Was he really a Nading? The children Mahlon, Eliza and Lydia were listed as being born in North Caroline while the children Landon and Sarah were listed as being born in Illinois. Were Landon and Sarah really Mary Ann’s children? Mary Ann was the daughter of:
