Note:   Susan Lamb Griffith believes Jones was raised by his oldest sister Mollie Lamb who married Emerson Dod Winn in 1883. She was about 18 years old when their mother died in 1886.
Text:   There was a fellow who took care of the manure and the potatoes for Connie's father Henry Virgil Tyner. One time her sister Bernice was holding their little brother J.P. while Connie and the helper were working on the potatoes. The sideboard fell on Connie and the helper, causing the fellow to land on Connie and break her hip. Sis Bernice and J.P. got mouthfuls of manure. Her mother would put apples on the roof of the barn to dry and make great apple pies. The family moved to Paragould on Hunt St. and later to Court St. Henry Tyner and Jones Houston Lamb both went to the University of Kentucky for their medical degrees. A student would go to school and year and then work a year to earn money for the next year. Then they would repeat this. Someone in Walcott sent Jones the money to finish school one year when he ran short of funds. Her father Virgil was a partner with Dr. Ellis Lamb in Oklahoma for a while.
